The Terrace School is renowned for its “tremendous school spirit” with students and staff displaying a great sense of belonging and unity. This is reflected in our own school waiata and haka. As quoted by an ex-student “Once a Terrace kid, always a Terrace kid.”
We have an “open door” policy and invite all prospective parents/caregivers and children to come and view our school.
The Terrace School offers a choice of mainstream or bilingual education. We are committed to our school motto “Knowledge is Strength”. We strive to teach our students values and how to incorporate them into their learning and everyday activities.

August 2008 - 1st and 3rd prize in Fine Art Supplies Uniquely New Zealand Schools Painting competition–intermediate section
Hawke’s Bay Mathletics – Gold and silver Awards – Years 7-8 – Country district
Hawke’s Bay Science Fair – Major prize.
Most successful Maori immersion unit.
